If you got less than 75% (less than 51/68) on the test, AND you showed me your completed study guide before the test, you can do test corrections.  For incorrect multiple choice write a sentence explaining the correct answer.  For other problems solve correctly.  You can turn in test corrections after break.

In class work, Wednesday December 17

Good morning Galileos and Einsteins,

I am out sick today. Here is what you should work on in class:

Check your HW from last night (momentum practice) and put it in your Drive folder.

Find the "Egg drop interactive" document in the Momentum folder.  Work with a partner to complete in class.  Anything not finished can be done for homework.

Momentum HW

For tonight- Momentum practice in the Momentum folder.  Egg drop due next week.

HW after test

-Check Aspen for missing work.  Make sure "Friction Practice," "More friction problems" and "3rd law practice" are also in your folder.

-Read on The Physics Classroom, Physics Tutorial, Momentum and its Conservation, Lesson 1 parts a, b and c.  Take notes on the definition and units of momentum, as well as what can increase or decrease momentum.

Newton's Laws Test

The HW tonight is the Newton's Laws study guide.  Remember, you must come in on Thursday with a completed (that is, every problem attempted) study guide in order to qualify for any test make-up opportunities.  Also the bar for retakes/corrections will now by 75%.

Review your notes and worksheets.  Like the last test, there will be a lab practical component.  Review your labs as well!

Hw- 3rd Law Practice

HW tonight is 3rd Law Practice.  Test on Friday/Monday.  We will start the study guide next.  Remember, NEW RULE: you must show me a completed study guide this week in order to qualify for test corrections/make-up.

More friction HW

HW for the weekend: "More Friction Problems."  The second problem is challenging, but you should try and work through it.  You may need the kinematics equations- search for a PDF of the MCAS Physics Formula sheet and save it to Notability.

Friction HW- Wed night

HW is in the Newton folder, called Friction Practice.  One of the formulas didn't copy over.  The missing formula is friction force = coefficient of friction x normal force.


Reminder that progress reports are coming out soon.  Please make sure you work is turned into your folder (see list below).

Friction lab

HW: finish the friction lab (graph and calculations).  Please PRINT this lab to hand in for class on Wednesday.  I will be in the computer lab on the 2nd floor Wednesday morning at 7:15 if you need help printing the lab.
